OK,I'm dumb-what is this part?
I can't find this in my Haynes right now, as stupid as that sounds. What is it? It has started clicking on glow plug cycle and continues to click after the engine is started. Connects to throttle linkage, up front of the engine.

I believe it is for your cruise control.

Well, why the hell won't it be quiet?! I have never used it and don't plan on it. Seller told me it didn't work, but I never use cruise anyway. That's actually a huge relief. Maybe it will just die a quiet death!

Just unbolt it, disconnect linkage, put it up on a shelf in your garage. The weight savings alone will add 2 miles per gallon!

Chances are that this device is working, hence the clicking. What is not working is the cruise control amplifier, most likely mounted on the steering column not far from the floorboard. Do a search to see how it can be fixed by resoldering.
