On the w123 door locks there is a 3-way valve in the driver's door that directs vacuum to the 'lock' or 'unlock' circuit. For this system, you have to add a solenoid to move the driver's lock plunger up or down, and this solenoid is wired to the remote locking system. I have the same setup and really like it.

My 240D doesn't have central locking, and I miss it. So I'll probably add solenoids to all the doors.

Thats exactly what I did.
