window sliding jaw question
 
I need to change one of the sliding jaws in the window regulator.
I have read many posts. See options for replacing with a screw to peening over the stud. Anyone tried tack welding it with a wire feed? What would be the drawbacks of trying this?

The plastic jaw might not appreciate the warmth.........
