Because if they are, it might be cheaper for me to just find a used one and skip the dent repair from my recent accident. I'm hearing some say around $500! And I know of some panels in a junkyard for $90.

If it's a unibody piece, is it too much trouble to remove and weld on a new one? Or would that just add up in cost as well?

The rear panels are unibody ... the front fenders would have been easy ... I have a pair of front fenders in my basement right now. The rear clip could be welded on, but I wouldn't try it myself ... welding a highly visible area like that and having it look halfway decent takes some skill. If you have great welding skills, you could try hitting the junkyard, grabbing a bumper and cutting off the rear clip. I actually have a whole rear clip in my basement that I am saving in case the rust around my tail lamps gets too bad.

Well, that makes things more difficult. I don't have any welding experience (I wish I did though!)

Looks like I'm going to have to get out a nice hammer and go to town..if I can't find someone to fix it for a reasonable price.

Yeah, I wish I could weld too ... I'm sure I could learn to do some basic jobs, just haven't had time (and really don't have a good place to do it). I'd search around for a while to see if you can find someone to do the bodywork at a good price. I think the big thing you want to worry about, beyond just having it look nice, is that there isn't any paint damage that leaves it vulnerable to rust. One compromised area in the paint that isn't fixed up correctly can lead to a never-ending rust battle.

The paint isn't too bad, except for in that one part where it is inverted

Oh well. I think after a new bumper and light cover, it won't look too bad, even if they do a so-so job on the dent.

awsrock, did you get this repaired yet? Reason I ask is I just found a nice rightside taillamp cover in my giant collection of 124 parts ... didn't even know I had it. I remembered you had damage to that light so thought maybe you'd be interested in it if you haven't replaced the cover already ...
