Wastegate Hose (?) Leaking Oil
hey all, i believe my wastegate hose is leaking oil around the hose clamp. it's the hose that comes out of the front of the turbo on the top, curls around to the left (when facing the engine) and attaches to something below and behind the turbo (wastegate i'm sure). i'm questioning my diagnosis as i thought that only air traveled through the hose...why is it leaking oil? help me end my ignorance, and let me know if damage might have occured from this. i'm driving gingerly until i can replace it, just in case there may be boost problems.

oil mist is ingested in the turbo from the valve cover. Oil can also get by the seals on the compressor shaft. This will result in a small amount of oil in everything downstream of the turbo. Unless you have an oil consumption problem, just replace the hose if it's leaking and continue to enjoy your fine German auto.
