W126 300 SD Window Motor
My window doesn't work. I got another motor from a wrecker. This one only has 2 wires, my old one had 2 wires plus 2 male spade terminals to receive 2 more wires. So what's the deal with the 2 spade terminal wires? I went back to the wreckers and he gave me another window motor, looks exactly like my old one minus the 2 male terminals that receive the 2 wires with the female spade terminals on them. When I pointed out this difference to him he said that perhaps I had the wrong one in there from the start and that all a motor needs is 2 wires to operate. If this is true then my problem must be between the switch and the motor.

I just fixed my 83 300SD window. My motor had 2 wires on it.

OK got it figured out, 2 wired motor works. Don't know what those other spade terminal wires do.
now I have to re assemble the regulator, re-attach it to the pane of glass... Hopefully I can figure that out but it's tough when you can't see what you're doing. |

Not all window motors are the same as you have found out. I've found at least three different types of window regulators in both w123 and w126's in the yards, and several types of motors. It's always best when parts hunting to bring the bad part with you and keep it in the car so you can reference the part to insure it's exactly the same. I used to be a parts hound/seller and found many many parts to not be the same even in the same year/models of MB.

My 83 300SD also has two wires. Neither of my front windows worked when I bought the car, but opening the window motors, cleaning them out and greasing them up was all it took.
