Turbo noise
Finished revamping my GT2056V setup tonight
When I get up into the high levels of boost(25lbs intake/33lbs exhaust) my turbo SCREAMS. My intake is a large paper filter stuck onto the inlet, my exhaust is a straight pipe exiting under the body. Am I just hearing the turbo kicking in or the turbo going into self-destruct?

You're shoving 25lbs of boost into the motor? If so, its not going to be long before it dies.
Stock is 13lbs or so, and I'd not go a whole lot higher than that.

Yeah that is a lot of boost there. No doubt it is screaming for mercy.

We need video.
Its screaming at the choke end of its map. You don't need any more than 12psi of boost, 14 if you remove the rack limiter. |

I'm going to be shooting in 5gph of alcohol. Now do I need more boost?
I don't regularly run those levels, I was just testing it out. BTW, that reading(25/33) was taken at ~2000rpm with the vanes fully closed. EGTs around 650-700*F
