Moving oil filter housing

has anyone moved there oil filter housing on a 617 turbo yet? throwing a 617 in a w108, i see people having problems with it hitting the booster on the w111 not sure if its true in my case but if its is id like to know what i will be dealing with.id like to know how some people have dealt with this and how it was done...thx

Here's my take on a W111, hits not the booster but the shift stick linkage.

Member here sells an adapter plate to use a remote oil filter. I believe his screen name is MercedesRover. If that's not right, someone can correct me.

thanks very much for the info..i have floor shift on my 108 you think i should be able to clear everything with my filter housing. and by moving the battery tray would i be able to fit p/s pump or will i still have to make some modification?

One of the Members had an interesting Idea of using 2 plates. 1 on the Engine and another but tapped and threaded on the opposite side to mount on the origional filter housing that would be mounted remotely.

I think it will clear the booster, but the heater hose might interfere, this pic is from my W108


It's an earlier 617-engine (.910) that already has the oil filter mounted elsewhere, but looks like there would be room for the original filter.
Would be best if you just dropped in the engine to see if it fits. If it does, great, if it doesn't you'll have to go the two-plate way.

Edit: you can move the battery tray and fit a ps-pump but I don't know if the tray will interfere with your turbo engine, mine are all NA.
