You guys will enjoy this one

Technically this should be in the Cragslist thread but it's just so ridiculous I thought everyone would want to take a look.

Wow, that thread is full of fail. 30-40mpg? Just because it's Diesel doesn't mean it will get good mileage, but people buy it.

What a tool.

Hmmm...
"I have worked on 1000s of these cars and have owned dozens of them"

Yet, he has yet to realize it is a 300sd?
Well I'm convinced, my payment (cash) is in the mail.

Based on what I've seen similar condition cars sell for on EBay, I think he'll be lucky to get $5k for it.

Looks pretty good though. If it was for sale by a reputable EBay seller, I'd be awfully tempted.

Hand painted Pin stripes were very popular in the early 80's, but GREEN? Blechhhh. Not on Astral silver with black leather.

I'll tell you right now, a 240TD couldn't haul 5000 pounds around town, it can barely haul itself. "Needs nothing", looks to me like it needs a antenna.

BUTperhaps you misread the listing. Nothing was said about hauling 500 lbs in a 240D, he said: "The ONLY time I saw one of these engines fully blown and unrepairable was a landscaper using a 240D wagon to haul a 5000lb landscaping trailer (for 3 years)"

Georgia, Texas and California????

What I don't get is...

The car is in Georgia, has old Cali plates and a Texas inspection sticker on the windshield for the year 2000. :/ How does he have an inspection sticker from Texas if he has the blue Cali plates? Even if it was registered in Texas, you have to surrender the plates. Did he ask for them back or what???

From the pictures, the car looks clean... Bozo the clown should have vacuumed it though before taking the pictures of it, but w/e.

40 mpg pfffft..... 12,000 is waaay to much, MAYBE if the car had like 10,000 original miles or something, and even then.

Yeah, too bad an MB mechanic doesn't know an SD when he sees one.
