Turbo Bad its make me crazy

Hello Peepz
when i drive on the highway whit my 300DT turbo diesel w123
The Turbo keeps in and keeps off somtimes and the car is very slow than
i have measured the turbo boost its give 0,65 mbar bij 3200 RPM

i have clean the banyobold
what is the problem
its make me crazy

t walgamuth 05-03-2009 04:06 PM

orry, but your comments are a little hard to understand. Could you give more detail about the nature of the problem you are having with the turbo, please?

jt20 05-03-2009 09:17 PM

what is "bij"

if you are satisfied with that boost level, and it is consistent, the next step is to trace that line from the 'banjo bolt' to a little solenoid on the firewall.

Clean, clean and clean all the associated lines and that little solenoid.

I have cleand al the line
banyobolt vacuum boost switch
but the car works not fine somtimes it has no power and somtimes its ride amazing
When i baybass tis part it have more power see picture

When i take the wire of this part it ride fine with full power see picture
what the oe nummer of this part? How can i check this part? i think this part is bad

i have renew al the filters
valve are adjust

and the turbo boost is 0,65bar =9psi

ForcedInduction 05-04-2009 01:45 AM

9psi is normal.

Yes i think i have an electrical problem
i think that thing on the intake manifolt

that is the pressure switch. - clean it out if you suspect it.

test for continuity across the contact and the threads. If it is stuck, you will have continuity.

judging by the dirt on the solenoid on your firewall, you have not removed it for a thorough cleaning - fill it repeatedly with WD-40 and shake the living he!! out of it.

Pressure Switch

1 Attachment(s)
"Closes" Provides Ground (Negative) to your Overboost Protection Solenoid
[In your picture,on the Firewall].
When a pre-set pressure level is reached. Thus denying Fueling to the "Overboost".
When the Pressure Switch "Sticks" (At a lower Boost pressure) it denies fuel
to feed Normal Boost(AND thus your lack of Ooomph).

ALL the CRAP from the EGR Dust and Oil mist from the valve cover tube feeding
the crankcase gases back into the Intake conspire to close off all of the Over-
Boost system...AND it's gotta be cleaned out!

Just bypass the switch entirely, run the line from the intake manifold banjo bolt to the alda. i have run this for year and years without any issue.

They said baypass will damage the motor
it wil make you headgasget stuck

^^ There are various opinions on the bypass out there. But I would rather fix it and keep that protection device.

Icefire 05-04-2009 02:21 PM

The sensor and switchover valve cuts the boost signal to the alda if an overboost situation should occur. Generally there are 2 incidents where this could occur, 1 your wastegate hose breaks, and you do not notice it in time. 2 your wastegate seizes closed.

These are very rare incidents, and I generally replace the wastegate hose every few years.

Your call.

i did what icefire did too with no problems. part of my power/acceleration issues were cured by this very simple solution. i did run a boost gauge though just to make sure nothing goes above 9psi

mobetta 05-05-2009 09:54 AM

what about that kid who was running like 35 psi w/ no bad effects?( aside form there is no need to run that psi)

(* I recall some such story from the performance and tuning)

Have we ever heard from him again? Exactly.
