82' 300SD Shut Off Valve

I have an US model 82 300sd and I need to replace my shut-off valve. There is a shut off valve on Ebay but it is for the European model...Do you think there is any difference and will it fit the US model?

Given what the function of the part is, I doubt that Bosch would have used two different shut-off valves to pull the IP rack back to the stop-engine position - one for the US market and another for Europe.

Since you want to be sure that what you buy will work on your 82 300SD, why not try to find an independent Mercedes shop near you that has a collection of Mercedes parts cars available. Your chances of finding a shut-off valve just like you need will then be much greater.

I think I will get the part anyway its only $25 on Ebay and if anything i'll return it if I have to. I live in Prescot, AZ and there is not many shops here anyway let alone MB shops. I appreciate the help and I think the part should fit.

The European model might have used the M pump. If so, the shutoff valve won't fit. Ours is the MW pump with the valve on the back of the pump.

You need the shutoff actuator. The shutoff valve is on the ignition switch.

Here's a pic of the part under hood, shut off valve, or whatever you want to call it, from my '83 SD. That's the old one, you'll see a paper gasket sandwiching a metal one and the surrounding ring that holds it in place.
