SLS Valve Problem - goes up but not down.
Hi All
My 1985 300tdt had the famous rear end sag, so I got the O-ring kit and re-sealed the SLS Valve. Now when I move the control lever to extreme F position - the rear end goes up and it doesn't bleed down in neutral position- but when I move the lever to L position - the rear end doesn't go down. I have to use the bleed screw to lower it. Where did I mess up? All ideas appreciated! Joseph |
you put the valve back together incorrectly ? Cant think of any other reason it would not lower.

Hi I expect you are correct but everything seemed to go together as per the pic. in the instruction sheet. Of course I don't really know if the lowering part was working before I took the valve apart since the car came with the problem in the first place. I wonder if there are parts that could wear to cause this condition? I did notice a shiny place on the back half of the valve where the cam had touched. Joseph |
