a little snag with tranny swap
I am doing a tranny swap. A 87 300td is the donor car. A 86 300sdl is the reciepient. The numbers on the tranny are the same. They are different that the speedo cable on the donor is mechanical and the sdl has a sensor type. Can the back ends of the trannys be swapped, and whats involved.

It should be possible. I believe others in this forum have done it and vice-versa.

Take the nut off the tailshaft and swap the rear housings and speedo drive.
