About an hour if you're in a hurry, 2-3 for the first time.

Draining the radiator does not drain the engine, you'll get a coolant splash for sure if you don't remove the block drain.
Don't forget to remove the ground strap on the lower rear left side of the engine.
Don't forget to disconnect the alternator/starter wires in the little black box on the front right fender well.
Using a load leveler on your engine hoist will make tilting the engine much more easy.

I pulled a 300cd motor and trans last night. Takes about 2-4 hours, if you take your time it will take all day to get it out. I dont have a load leveler so its a guessing game trying to get the engine at the proper angle. I removed the fan clutch to make it a little easier. Don't forget the neutral safety switch wires and the shifter rod.

I can do one in an hour normally, ive pulled like 3 and each time i found short cuts.

im gonna pulling the engine from the 77 to replace/rebuild since its has quite a few oil leaks to take car of plus the compression is getting low.

So what short cuts did you find?

I just disconnect what I is really necessary and while Im draing fluids im doing other things such as disconnecting things and loosen up bolts. Using air raquets to speed things up.
