Trannie cooler lines ,the good and the bad.
Good if you catch the leak in time ,bad if you dont, very bad if the trannie wont shift after filing her up to specs.I fall under the first catagory thanks to a short trip around the area but if it was a trip to town this would of come out to be a long day.It leaked out a quart or so at first ,then steadily got worse on my trip back after filing it up.Replaced both lines and will keep a good spare from now on in the car.Trannie service it next week just to be safe.

The rubber in the lines gets porous after a while and start to "weep." I replaced mine about 20K ago. Getting fittings to re-seat after R&R of radiator was a challenge. Snugging them up on the radiator side was nerve-racking since I didn't want to trash a brand new radiator. Clamping the lines off and maintaining immaculate cleanliness in and around the fitting nuts did the trick.

are you guys saying that leaks in the lines cause poor shifting... or the loss of fluid causes it?

Enough leaks out and it will shift harder or slow to hit its shift, more and its cooked. It was spraying a nice stream ,enough to were a 30 minute trip would have been a wrecker call as a return trip.
