Idiot lights...help!

I have an idiot light on in a 93 300SD,it's on the right side of the cluster between the brake light and I think the abs light. It's an amber light with a circle with desending dots and an arrow on either side of the circle,we don't have an owners manual and I don't know what this light is for.Can anyone here tell me what it is and possible corrections for it?

If you have no clue what a simple light means on a car dash then BUY THE OWNERS MANUAL that light has been used for years in mercedes cars.

To the smartass who replied about getting the manual to explain a commonly used idiot lght, I have the follow to say:

As a truck driver who has used my CB Radio numerous times to get assistance and information, I find this reply to be at best, "Really Bad Manners" and I will abstain from giving my usual Radio response. So, I will limit myself to responding, that if you can't help answer the simple question, keep your two cents to yourself.

Further, this site is supposed to be a place for newbies and others to seek information, no matter how stupid the question may seem. Replies like yours only discourage people from using this site.

Helping others includes helping them help themselves.

I'm happy the question was asked, I'm happy a technical response was provided, and I'm happy someone suggested that the owner/driver of a car should be familiar with its features. Tone is another matter.

At its core the W140 300SD is not a complicated car to keep running. You can disconnect the battery and continue to drive until you run out of fuel. The rest of the car is ridiculously complex even by today's standards. I project onto others my confusion over what seemingly simple things like the key and key fob can do. The practical side of having manual is you can walk around the car and figure out what works and what doesn't and figure out why the windows won't auto-up/down after you disconnect the battery, etc.

This site is great but there's W140 specific DIY information that's easier to find at www.v12uberalles.com
