I usually tighten it just past the point where it stops leaking.

The manual only shows "retighten".

If yours is leaking there is a few threads on that. A Copper Washer may work better than the old thin Aluminum washer that sits under the Filter Bolt Head.

Thanks all,
I've got an old copper washer on there, guess I'll try replacing it with a new one. Was hoping there was a torque value on it, seems like I'm putting a lot of force on it and it is still weeping.

Some of the bolts have a washer, some don't. I've found this (pic) works, I got it at the local hardware store.
