burping air from coolant 87sdl

what is best way to burp air out of coolant system?.ive read here to raise front end-then whats next?.do i run car ,open drain or hose- fill at expansion tank-which hose or drain is best-?

It should self bleed but I find it takes 2-3 runs to fully bleed. Before it's bled the temp gauge will venture to 100*C when it's not under load and there'll be gurgling sounds from the heater core. Go home, wait for it to cool, top off reservoir, lather, rinse, repeat. After the second or third topping the gurgling stops and the temp gauge doesn't go to 100*C unless you really load the engine.

To speed things along, I remove the 3-pin temp switch where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine so it bleeds as I'm filling. Fill slowly so it doesn't gush out the hole.

thanks for the info ,i like the temp sensor idea ,will fill again tonite.
