Question
I am going to ask this quickly, hopefully I'll quickly dismissed and the I will shut up. What is the difference between a diesel and a gasoline engine?...please tell me...thanks

Everything except the materials they are made of and that they both convert combustion pressure into mechanical work.

Also check the "How Stuff Works" web site. They have some semi-decent videos and graphics. A bit simplified but it will get the basic concepts across.
