Missing/shaking when first going?

I have a 71 220D I am having an odd problem I can't figure out. The car starts and idles just fine. I let it warm up and then head home/to work. When I get to the first couple stoplights it shakes horribly. exhaust sounds bad.. feels like it's "missing" not running on all 4 cyl. then after you drive a little the problem goes away.. injector maybe??? I am at a loss

Does your car have an engine shock ?
How old are your engine mounts ?

Sometimes these are things which were being damped when those items were in good condition...then can be felt later when they need replacing... but appear to be engine running symptoms as compared to shocking symptoms...

Does your car injector have a rack damper ? MB put them there to allow future adjustments to keep the engine ' smooth'...

Does your car have a knob on the dash for the adjustment of the idle ?

Motor mounts need replaced I know. But the problem is that I have lost power and MPG's along with you can hear a difference in the exhaust. I want to figure it out, It's only the first 10-15 minutes and then it's gone.

How can I tell on the rack dampener?

If you're hearing a faint "thump thump thump" in the exhaust then trying doing a valve adjustment.

I think only the turbo models with 5 cyl have the Rack Damper Screw.

Yeah that is my first plan as that was my thought. It just happened rather sudden

yeah that is unusual, but it could be the valves. i'd say go for it and do report back :)
