I never use a torque wrench on any nuts/ bolts external to the engine. I have a good feel (or at least I think I do ) on how "tight" to crank on a wrench based on the size of the nut or bolt. I have not snapped any hardware or have them loosen up in a very loooong time so I think I am doing ok.
