Me too... I'm still looking for the nice elusive 94-98 2500QC 4x4 with the 12 valve. The dually was just too much.

AJ

Who, me?!
I had a '98.4 12-valve, 4x4, QC/LB, NV4500, 3.55's, etc - sold it 3 years ago. I miss that truck - a lot.

Beers,

Matt

[QUOTE=Bajaman;2210158]LOL, megacab Dodge?? You must have missed the part about not wanting a car payment.

QUOTE]

Hmmmm.....I guess I shouldn't mention that I paid $X,xxx for my 2000 Dodge Cummins, extended cab, long bed on Halloween, 2008. Granted, it did take me almost 5 months to get the "electrical gremlins" sorted out. Darn ECM!!!

With new tires, a rebuilt transmission, AirDog 100, and all the other part slinging I did at the "electrical gremlins", I still have less than $5500 in the truck.

The bargain trucks are out there......just got to keep looking for them.

I have a 95 Silverado 2500 with the 6.5. It's been good to me, but not enough power if you are towing heavy stuff. The weak points of the motor are injection pumps and lift pumps. Also the PMD located on the side of the injection pump. It's an electronic driver that gets too hot.. I bought a relocation kit and mounted it in my grille. The 6.5 is also a pig on fuel.

I finally picked up the burb. Peddle to the floor on the interstate resulted in fuel starvation, so when I got home I opened the drain valve w/engine running. No fuel- engine stopped. I guessed the oil pressure switch was bad. Yesterday, I took the OPS out and pressure tested it. Sure enough dead. I installed a new one along with a relay to take the load off the switch. Quick test drive showed fuel starvation issue is solved.
Now I've got a check engine light that wasn't there before? At least it doesn't miss at idle now...

PMD is already mounted on a heat sink hanging off the manifold. I think I'll make an extension harness and move it to a cooler location.

I think one reason its a pig is the restrictive/inefficient turbo.

I'll shoot some pics this evening...

Awesome, I've always been a fan of the Suburbans. I grew up with them. We had 2 6.2s, but in the 90s my dad..gasp!...moved on to the gas versions.

I'm planning on buying a diesel truck in the next couple months but wouldn't mind getting a Suburban. Looking forward to the pics.

Did you get it for $3500?

As promised, Here are some pics:
Paint work is in great shape

What's the best solution for leather reconditioning?

Suggestions on how to repair the cut in the seat?

New IP, PMD relocated to a heat sink, though I think I'll move it to a cooler location.

The wagon by it's new diesel sibbling

Congratulations, it looks to be in good shape. I am in the market myself, and really wish there was a Yukon Denali with the Duramax (transplant, anyone?)

For leather reconditioning, Leatherique products are the best.

Yeah, I ultimately want something with a Cummins 24v or Duramax.
