I am trying to figure out what years and models of Mercedes seats will interchange
with each other.

Anyone know where I can get one of those reference books that the junkyards
have that show parts interchangeability.

Or better yet, a searchable database like Pick N Pull has ?

Love to have one for the 80's models of Mercedes.

Has anyone even seen one, or know where to find one ?

I think you are referring to Hollander Manuals. They can be purchased, but as I remember they are expensive.

A cost free, albeit laborious, way of going about it is to access the EPC at http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/welcome.jsp. Go on eBay to lookup a variety of models for sale in the year range you require. Take the VIN that you find there for each model and input it into the EPC. Look up seats. Look at the diagram to identify the seat part you wish to interchange. Click on the number representing the seat part. Look at the left column and take down the part number while paying attention to year range and whether the part is meant for the leather, vinyl-MbTex(I think the EPC calls that "simulated leather"), or the velour version of the seat.

Input the VIN into the EPC of the car you want to interchange with. Look up seats. Look at the diagram to identify the seat part you wish to interchange. Click on the number representing the seat part. Look at the left column and compare the number to the number you had taken down for the other car. If it matches it should interchange.:dizzy2:
