'78 300D - Center Vents and Defrost

I have read thru previous posts - I have, what I hope is a simple question:

When running AC on Auto Hi, I have cold air coming out the center vents AND the defrost vents. Clearly, more is coming out of the center vents but I am getting a good deal of air coming out the defrost (which can cause condensation to build up on the windshield). When I push DEF, I have most of the air coming out of the defrost vents, but some coming out of the center vents.

Is this normal? Do I have a leak somewhere???

Sounds like a vacuum issue to me, IIRC the vents' servos are vacuum accuated.

Sounds normal.

the center vents are for ac and the other vents are for heat.

I had the same system in my 77 300D until it gave me troubles and i saw how expensive to fix and troublesome it is I went to manual climate control.
