Window Stops Firm 2 Inches from Top

On my 1992 300D, rear right window moves up and down fine. But now it stops two inches from top. There's no play in it, no way to "help it" get to the top.

Is this a bad regulator or something else?

Thanks!

yep. does it start making a terrible sound when it hits that last two inches? Both my front windows did that and I needed two new regulators.I was told by my mechanic to use only OE so I did..

No, no sound at all. It just stops.

thats weird. Mine sounded like a machine gun if you held the window switch. maybe you have a different problem with the regulator?

Pull the door panel, and have a look while the electrics are still plugged in. Every DIYer on their own MB needs to learn to R & R their door panels, among other things.

It's run by a cable, sounds like something has come loose or slipped.
