I was having a over heat problem with my car as well. I ended up using a radiator flush product by prestone I believe. It required for me to drain the radiator completely and then flush it again with 100% water and then drain it. And fill it back up with the product I purchased and 100% water. I then had to drive the car around for 8 hours. It didn’t have to be all at one time, but I ended up keeping it in the system for over a week. Because I didn’t have time to flush it out. I then drained the system and man that was nasty. You’re going to see a lot of white slim and rust come out of your coolant system. It really made me worry. But after I filled her up with the MB radiator fluid and distilled water I can say I haven’t had an over heating problem.

I think most of the over heating issues people are having is simply by owning an older model car that hasn’t had there system cleaned out. I find this MB to great cars if you keep them will maintained.

it just seems to me that if the fins were both in the same direction that the airflow would be much better.

I suggest you re-test the fan clutch per directions in the following threads.
