Swap a 602 for a 606?
'95 E300D: Can I put an OM602 into this car? Or will the computer be upset?
Any insight would be appreciated.

Depending on the smog laws in your state, you may not be able to put an older engine in a newer chassis without updating the engine to the laws in effect for the 1995 model year. Then again, for diesels it may not matter and if you don't say anything, I promise not to either.
The '95 is less computerized than the '96 (which is a W210 chassis). I don't think that the computer does more than control the EGR valve and the electronic idle. The '95s did have some kind of crude pre-OBDII "check engine" system that you might have to trick. The '95 has a cable-operated direct-connect throttle that could be adapted to an OM602. I've never owned a '95 so I don't know how fussy it will be. Cetainly would be worth a serious look.
