W124 Outside Temperature Display Wiring Diagram
 

Hi folks,
I was wondering if somebody could post a wiring diagram for the pin connections at the outside LCD display head for a W124 body, 5-pin display. Or list what pins 1 thru 5 are connected to. Did a forum search but came up empty. Thanks.

I'm swapping out the Fahrenheit readout, which has started to go black around the edges - common problem I guess - for a Centigrade temp readout from a spare car. I'm hoping the probe doesn't have to change. I noticed the *C readout module has the 4 pin plug on it.

You can use the same probe with both C and F readouts, 4-pin or 5-pin, doesn't matter as long as you get it wired correctly. My '87 came with a (dead) 4-pin C readout and I swapped in a 5-pin F readout. Works great.

I listed the order and colors on this forum in the last month. If I can find it I'll post it again.

I can help on the four pin wiring.
#1 = Power Lead (black w/red stripe)
#2 = Ground (brown) and Sensor Wire (brown)
#3 = Sensor Wire (green)
#4 = Light (black)
