1976 240D 4 speed for parts..whats it worth?
I have run across a rusty floored, perfect interior (Palamino I believe) with a 4 speed. Engine ran for a bit, didn't run too bad. Just the drivers side floor is a bit airy (ok, gone). Interior parts, and a presumable good 4 speed and engine. Anyone have an idea what this car could be worth? I would have to drive a good distance to retrieve it. Gotta love owners who say body is good, and you can spot the rust when you are 30 feet away. Thanks for any imput!

If it's a decent 4 speed you can part out a 4 speed conversion kit and sell the interior.
Speaking of which is the entire rear seat in very good to excellent shape? |

Where are you located? If you're fairly close I might want that transmission.

If you took EVERYTHING out which applies to the four speed... including the driveshaft, pedal assembly, hyd clutch hydraulics, flywheel, etc..it might be worth $ 500 to $700 to someone on the forum with a failing auto trans in a car to which it would ' bolt over to'.

The car is in central Wisconsin, and I am in Nebraska. The rear seat is probably as close to perfect as you could get. I will try to post some pics. I don't have a car to put those parts on, wouldn't mind having the 4 speed for a future project. It was on craigslist, I think the car could be had for 150. I have decided against it, so I will get some pics, and maybe someone close to there could get the car and part it out? The car is in Baraboo, WI. The pics that he sent are in DOCX format (worthless for posting). If anyone wants the pics forwarded, more than happy to.
SCHON5506@uwc.edu This is the email address of the kid that has it. The engine ran briefly, I am sure the fuel wasn't great, but it was halfway smooth when running..no alarming diesel noises. I can't use the car, but want someone to get some use from it! I think the owner wants to just get rid of it anyway he can. |
