220D brake and clutch projects- need advice
I bought a 72 220D with a very stoing engine-- 62,000 miles with MT.
The car needs a good wash, four new glow plugs, filter changes and a total brake job. Some brake calipers were removed because they were sticking I know FOR SURE I will replace all rubber brake lines and all pads However: 1. Should I assume all calipers are bad and replace? What about rebuilding them? Is it practical? 2. Should I replace all rotors or just have them measured and cut? 3. Since the clutch slave cylinder is hooked to the brake system for hydraulic fluid etc, which is bled first? Does it matter? Should I both both twice? People tell me that the 220D's weak point is the clutch slave cylinder. Any comments? On a separate topic, has anyone used the Bosch 80035 pencil-type glow plugs with large body (18mm)? We need to develop a corner for the 220D-W115 enthusiasts, I think we have more than just Jordaan and me. I'd like to get a list together and may start that as a separate thread. In the meantime your answers would be appreciated. Thanks

Be sure to replace the rubber feed line for the clutch master cylinder.
The one in my recently aquired 220d has been leaking and neglegted for the past 10 years or so. Fluid has been running down the firewall and collecting behind the rubbery sound deadening material on the firewall. This is the result. After a little grinding
