'84 300D IP timing?
I was told by a so called MB mechanic that I can't set the IP timing on my car? That I have to replace the timing chain to fix the timing??

They are two different things. Also, you can reset your cam timing without replacing the chain. You use an offset woodruff key. There is an article on that under the DIY section as well. Scott
