How about checking it. Switch could be corroded or something.

check the switch first, then move onto the soleniod.

I had to replace my soleniod for it to work correctly.

79Mercy,

Clue us in on the solenoid. Where exactly is it. I have the ATSG manual and I can't find it. Mine is sticking and maybe sometime I may want to replace it.

Is it hard to get to?

Inquiring minds want to know.

it is located above the fluid pan on the passenger side of the transmission.

It is a electromagnatic coil, i can even begin to tell you how it make the tranny down shift....

But if you turn the key to glowplug position push the pedal to floor to hit the switch, you should be able to hear the soleniod click.

the soleniod is bad. First I would make sure your getting 12V to the soleniod when pedal is on the floor.

I finally found it in the book. It is facing the output shaft on the rear passenger side.
