use a 19mm wrench and loosen the lock nut on the steering box. use a 6mm allen and turn the adjustment screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE about 1/4 turn. Keep turning it 1/4 turn until you like the way it feels. Don't tighten it up to much or it will not return to center.

I'm a candidate of being sure everything in your front suspension is tight before messing with the gearbox. IE: check all your tie rod ends, ball joints, idler arm bushings, wheel bearings, control arm bushings and guide rod mounts. If any of the above are loose, adjusting the gearbox is not going to do a thing.

thats very true....

Jack up one side of the car at the time and try to move the wheel side to side and up and down. Visually inspect all the bushings and grease boots, and also inspect the pinion arm.

If you turn the steering wheel within the limits of its play and have someone observe the pitman arm, you should be able to tell if the play is in the steering box. If you don't see anything else moving but are turning the steering wheel, the play is in the steering box.

But by all means, check all of the other stuff as mentioned above. There could be multiple factors contributing to the play.
