ac system screens?
does anyone know if MB hid screens anywhere in the AC system on a w123 or w126 (my engine came from a 300sd)? I am going to flush my system and would like to know for sure. thanks!

Are you talking about inline filters in the A/C freon lines?
My '82 does not have any.

It does not mean that they do not...but in all my reading on MB AC stuff I have never seen any indication of one.... if I had I would remember it because it would automatically mean that the flush would need to go a certain direction first. If an inline filter ( which I recommend ) was added by a previous owner it would normally be replaced instead of being flushed.

Orifice tubes typically have screens. Thermal expansion valves do not, but you can't flush through them either.

My 107 chassis had a screen just before the expansion valve but I don't know if they used them on other models. On mine it was the cause of very poor A/C performance when it got plugged up!
