Not quite the solution i am looking for. And doesn't solve the problem at hand.... I am stuck ... may have to call a damn locksmith ugh

I even tried adding a vac/pressure line to the drivers door lock on my car and then it would work if I activated the pump in the trunk (I did this as a test for a remote door lock but it turned out to be easier to add a solenoid control to the lock knob in the drivers door).
I would take the door panel off and look up at the shaft going from the knob to the key lock to see if anything was added. Even if the pump ran from a short it wouldn't lock the drivers door.
People keep saying this in all the threads but my 1985 300sd has a vacuum line to the driver door that will lock it from either the trunk or the passanger front door. also locks when the car locks by itself. There is nothing pulling down on the lock nor is there any other malfunction in the system its just a stupid design. wtf would you put auto locking doors on a car than can lock the keys in the ignition?!?!?!?!?

these do help ... on another topic... where is the button located for orthopedic seats if i have them .... the driver seat controls have memory seats which i have not played with yet and another button that i am not sure what its for or if it even does anything.

In the manual there is no distinction except for the location of the pump, these pics are from the manual with the trunk mounted version.
You may have a leak, but otherwise as has bee mentioned, an aftermarket security thing.
Four more pics to follow.

I have already performed this test procedure. Everything is tight no leaks were found. Something electrical is telling the pump to turn on and the locks to lock. is there a delay timer on the automatic lock mechanism (module)?
The problem is too consistent to be a short.

A couple of things come to mind....
First, you have been having this problem for a while, and keep getting locked out of the car. You mean to tell me that the thought of a spare key never came to mind????????????
Good grief!

Just curious, does your dome light have the same time out interval as this random locking poltergeist?

I just purchased the car and have only been driving it for a month.... yes do have a spare key and after today i now have a hide-a-key. and no the dome light stays on about 5 seconds after the doors lock.

Question.... Does anyone have a 126 that the doors lock automatically on? or is mine the only one. I thought this was a feature cause my 124 would lock automatically after like 5 min as a "safety feature" so i didn't think much of it.

Nope, my 81 300SD will lock by key or by pushing down the driver's side button - but no automatic locking.

If the pump runs 15 sec. after door closure, it sounds like it may be a malfunction of the factory alarm system. Have you tried to disable the alarm?
