from what lance told me he was banned because brian? is having a one sided feud against him and abuses his powers to keep lance banned
some troll named goatboy is hurting the forum and lance is just trying to get rid of it

i looked throuh as many posts as i can, 15000 over 6 years is a lot!, and i dont see any where he did any of that

it would suck for this forum to loose a dedicated guy like lance because brian is out to get him
is brian jelous of lance or something? i dont get why he hates him

Eric, if you think Lance hasn't earned his banishment(s) then you haven't been reading the same posts I have.

He does have good info to share, and I have given him credit and tried to compliment and encourage his sharing it in a positive manner, whenever I see him doing so. Unfortunately, those occaisions have been few and far between.

HOWEVER, from what I've seen, anyone who disagrees with him, doesn't do things the way HE thinks they should be done, or (God forbid) wants to discuss anything about alternative fuels, is subject to attack by Lance. He's pretty good at being provocative while just skirting along the edge of violating the TOU, but he still crosses the line often enough to accumulate enough points to get banned 3 times in the last year.

Add that to a very superior tone, the diplomacy of a steamroller, the sensitivity of a rock, and a generally unpleasant disposition, and I think Lance has earned every ban he's received. Did you see the thread about using hair from Holocost victims in WWII German textiles manufacturing - before it got deleted? If you read his posts in that one and still want to defend him, then I would suggest you need help as much as he does.

Naturally he's going to say that Brian is picking on him, and he doesn't deserve to be banned. What would you expect him to say? The fact is, the guy gets into verbal fisticuffs with a wide variety of people, and it can't be because there is something wrong with ALL of them, and he's just an innocent bystander...

so because he wants to make theis place a better place by pointing out a troll, he should be thanked for his diligance by being banned and threatned with 6 months EXTRA ban for every time he reports the troll trolling? sure sounds like somebody on a power trip against him to me

Well, if he closes his account and has all his threads and posts with drawn and closed, that will be a loss of information that could help in the searches to everyone.

so when fingers are being pointed, there are always three pointing back.

No offense to the guy...I have respect for his knowledge and car..

But the guy is kind of a douchebag! He would say things that weren't nice or he would give this "I know everything and everything knows me" kind of vibe as if to make you feel that you know absolutely nothing about automobiles (And I'm pretty sure it goes without saying) To be honest, I would be hesitant to post threads because I'm thinking he would always come back with some smug remark...It could even just be about grammar or spelling

Who has met him in real life?

I think he's a decent guy.. but with a case of diarrhea of the mouth... probably exacerbated by his anonymity on the internet.

From what I remember reading somewhere, I think his ban is up in mid-July or something. Soon!

I am glad the guy has been on this forum - really learned a lot from his posts, but I wish he were a little more open to others' ideas. Isn't a forum for discussing different opinions and options? If there was one way to do everything we'd all be doing it. I'd welcome his return, but I'd also welcome a more accepting attitude. I think he means well, and certainly doesn't hesitate to give his advice to those who need it, and for that I am grateful.

I think when you build so much knowledge up about a certain subject some people tend to get cocky and act as if all others should know the same amount, particularly with cars (and music for that matter, in my experience). I think its important to these individuals to get reminded periodically that others are just beginning in the field, or some do not have as much interest. I've had professors like this and they are just horrible.

It is ironic that you chose to compare the human beings murdered by the Nazi regime to cattle. National Socialism actually viewed the Jews as the lesser of the two. It appears you subscribe to at least one of their tenets.
