injector heat shields

i see that injector heat shields are available with 10mm and 7 mm holes.
What difference would it make using either?

There is another thread somewhere about this.
There seems to be not specific answer except that both Heat Shields work.

Both my Volvo and my Mercedes came with the small holed ones so I decided that those are the ones I want to use.
When I bought a bunch I ordered them for the Volvo but the Older VW Rabbit Diesels also used the small hole ones. Also the Seller I bought them from sold the Big Holed ones for Mercedes and the Small holed ones for the Volvo.

Yes both my 240's have the small hole shields. I think Phil stocks them

Both work fine.
I prefer installing matched sets.

More data than you ever wanted to know about the subject can be found in this thread. :D

On all of the High mileage Injectors that I pulled from the Junk Yard and also on my own car; the area that the Injector Heat Shield does not cover was eroded away.

This could mean that if you have the Large Hole Injector Shields already on your car and the exposed area of the Nozzle is eroded away that you cannot use the Small Holed Injector Shields because they would not seal over the eroded metal.
