80 300TD Non Turbo, Heater
Already followed some suggestions, but no luck.
No heat. Fan works, put in new aux pump, now I only get power to the pump if I cross the little dime sized switch under the dash on the air box (Behind Glovebox), even with power to the pump and the engine running, no heat. I disconnected the AC that seemed to be engaged all the time. Still no heat, I lived in FL for years so this heater wasn't used, now freezing my butt off in NC. Help..... I am guessing the vertical temp wheel may be a culprit, or maybe the ACC amplifier. But shouldn't having the engine and the pump running heat up? What is that vacuum operated switch on the firewall that is associated with the heater mmm? Thank You Anyone. |

Compliments of Larry Bible
I have a well worn set of diagnostic information on climate control systems that I received from Larry Bible.
Shoot me your fax number and I'll fax it to you. It should help. Also, I found that "flushing" my heater core helped a great deal and also helped ensure that it was not the problem. I just disconnected the hoses from both the inlet and outlet and flushed it with a slow stream of H20. There was a bunch of sediment in the core. It was not my primary problem, but it did improve the performance of the system. (start easy early) JCD |
