$800 ??? Hope you've bought it by now! I paid $1900 for mine with a burned up tranny (although nicer cosmetics...). Go for it!!

Oddly, mine has EXACTLY the same cell phone mounting. Trying to figure out how to turn it into an Ipod holder .

What I'm saying is when one buys an old, cheap, neglected MB in an attempt to avoid paying the normal going rate for one that's been well cared for, they end up paying more in the long run. When you factor in properly done body work, engine work, transmission work and other hiding gremlins, one can spend more in a few months trying to get that cheap & neglected MB up to snuff than it would cost to maintain the well cared for MB for a few years.

While a new MB may be expensive, at least you're not paying $120k and then having to put $120k or more back into it in a few months later to make it a decent driver.

Yes there is, a cheap Prevost. Ask me how I know, ... actually I'm betting you can guess.

The last cheap Prevost I saw for sale belonged to a friend of mine. He bought a brand new Marathon Prevost conversion 40' in about '89. He paid $325,000 for it. 10 years later he was trying to move it asking $120,000. As I remember it had just over 100K miles on it, and was powered by a Cummins Silver 92. I saw it in Hot Springs, Arkansas outside his lake house, and it looked in very worn condition. Boy was it nice looking when it was new though. A cheap Prevost would be from $75K & up, to me.

I was thinking a cheap Prevost would be anything under $200k, pretty old by then. Still though, 100k miles is pretty young for a well-maintained Prevost.

The Detroit 8V92TA (silver after ~'83 I believe) could be a very expensive engine to maintain if it is DDEC I, DDEC II came out around '89 though and is much cheaper to upgrade. Pretty much anything pre-Series 60 (~'95) is going to be expensive to run, especially with the earlier 4-speed Allison, ... 5mpg is not unusual.
