Will be interesting to see, but it will sort of like having someone else give blood for your blood test. The oil analysis has as much to do with the particular engine that the oil is tested from as it does the oil itself, if not more so.

If, however, you need a testimony for Delo 400, I will offer one. I have used this oil in both diesel and gas engines for at least a million miles worth of driving and that's not even talking about my Farm Machinery.

Up until some of the newer cars I now own, that's all I've used for well over 20 years and my engines go long distance without overhaul on the stuff.

I was looking to get a comparison for my blood test and establish some sort of 'baseline' with this oil and these engines. I will be sending my oil out regardless of others' results.

Now that I think about it, there should be a thread where everyone posts their OA results, regardless of particulars.

Mine too...

My W124 had lower end sealing issues. New oil was fine, but after some use, it started to puff it. I asume wicking through rings, but???

Anyway, I tried Delvac, Rotella, WalMart cheapo, and Delo.

All dino as synth would ahve puffed more. Of all those oils, the base in Delo held together longer, meaning I would get 1500+ miles out of the oil before the engine started to consume it as fuel.

Not scientific, but guess what is going into the "new" W210 in the next few days.

BTW, as we run B100, one of the group has his oil tested. He has since been shipped off to TX ( USAF), but the analysis told him that due to the B100 a certain compound was building up in the oil. It was not dangerous, but they did recommend shirter oil change intervals due to it.

As I cannot contact our flyboy now, does anyone have B100 oil test results, or know what the compound is that build up? His was in a 2001 Ford pickup, so I am ASSUMING the same would apply for my 606.910/912 mills.

In my MB diesel engines, Yamaha R1 motorcycle and Honda genset from day one, never regretted it. Converted quite a few of my friends as well who swear by it. For the gasser I use Mobil-1 but I am trying to get some Delo synth as its supposed to be an excellent synth oil.

All 5 of our MB's (diesel and gas) have been on Rotella Synthetic 5w40 for a combined mileage of around 165,000+ miles and counting....with 0 engine issues, and almost no chain stretch changes when checked every 15-20k or so. My engine has 65k+ on it since timing chain replacement, and it is just barely at half a degree of stretch. That is on a 4,000 mile oil change interval.

I won't run a 15w40 oil up here, its like cold honey in the winter....the 5w40 synthetic flows WAY better in the cold, I should make a comparison video of how they pour....

I have to use the synthetic Rotella here in the Texas Panhandle in winter.

The thick dino stuff would prevent my 616 from starting last winter.

I'm not risking the same this winter in my 602 even though I have discovered a previously installed block heater in this one.:D

I'm due for an oil change in 600 miles. I'm hoping to switch to synthic next summer since I do a lot of cold starts in the winter. I want to be at home before I do something like this.

I believe the winter oil of choice is dino 5w40. I'll look into this more when the time comes.

Most people that want a 'winter' oil run Rotella 5W-40 (Blue jug) or Mobil-1 Turbo Diesel Truck Synthetic. In most places the Mobil-1 costs ~$1 more a quart. Around here the M1 costs $6.79/quart now and the Rotella blue I can get at $5/quart.

I cold started at -3F last winter (without a block heater) on Mobil-1 and Mobetta cold started more than 10 degrees colder with Rotella. It definitely makes a difference in aiding starting. I switched to Rotella this summer but not because Mo cold started at a lower temp but because of the cost and I decided trying to run longer OCI was not worth it.

I used Delvac I for 2 changes. I was adding 1QT at every fuel up (450 mi). I switched to Rotella and add 1QT close to 2 fills. My 617 did incounter an overheat which resulted in .009 warp in head at #3 to #4 cylinders from PO. I dont know if rings are letting it by. Mech. said some scuffing in cylinder. Turbo intake was always wet with oil on Delvac. Now not to bad. Alot of variables here to work with of course!

Both my '85 300D-T and my '87 300D Turbo have Delo-400 15W-40 in their crankcases. The oil tests were done by George Murphy with about 3000 miles on the oil. The '85 had about 225,000 miles on it at the time, the '87 about 135,000 miles.
