Mystery shake at stop sign

I bought a 83 mercedes about 4 years ago. First start up it ran smooth, and after driving a while it would shake at a stop sign like missing on one some. I went thru a couple of valve adjustments in time. I, also, did a lot of cleaner use thru the tank, and changing fuel filters. I went on for nearly four years, and a short time back something kind of like popped. It now runs very smooth like all the time, and very much better acceleration. I just changed the fuel filters the other night, and both very clean no contamination showing. Also, it did use like 1/2 quart of oil in 15 hundred miles or so. I last changed the oil about 15 hundred miles ago, and I just checked it, and it was maybe only an 1/8 of an inch down on the dip stick. It seemed to me like maybe I had a clog some place, but not sure??? Much better ride now!

Is your car cured of the shaking; or has the shaking come back after 4 years?
