83 300D AC Fan & clutch no go
I seem to be the only one with wierd problems, guess again own 300D.
This time the AC clutch turns on for a few seconds and then quits. I checked for voltage at the low pressure switch. I get .01-.16 volts and the compressor is a no go with that. I plug the wires backon the switch and it goes again for a few seconds. When it is running I have 13 + volts. The AC fan seems to start, but I think the climate controler has figured out that it's not col enough to turn on the fan other than very low speed. Switching to the full cold or full hot, or fan on switch does not make the fan activate either. I'm going out to my bone yard to change out icecube relays and see if that changes things. Anyone have any ideas? It's gettin friggin hot in California.

Climate contol Sucks!!!!!!
Ok I tried changing out the icecube relays and still the same thing. Looks like I lost the push button control unit. I took the one out of the wreck I have out back and it's shot too. One of the relay coils looks like it wanted to burn through the circut board. I haven't taken one out of the running care yet.
Prior simtoms: Center vent quit working Heater fan would not turn on Sometimes the high speed fan only switch would not come on. In a nutshell the climate contols in these cars SUCK!!!! If anyone has anyother ideas chime in. Anyone rebuild these units?

Ok here's the final.
The fan motor quit. The pin on the center flap took off some where in the lost world of 300D climate system. Lost and gone for ever. Without the fan motor running the Evap temp switch got cold enough to shut down the AC unit to recycle mode. Make sense now? Now all I need is a good pin to secure the center flap to the vacuum pod rod. whew....... That was a close one. Nah I wouldn't trade her in.

Found a clip for the center vent flap, a safety pin. Wasn't to hard to put on and won't be too hard to remove for the next time. The center vents are everything for cold AC.
Hope this helps
