I have a 82 or 83 240D parts car and a 85 300TD (wagon). The wagon has torn rear boots and I was wondering if the 240D axles are candidates to swap to the wagon.

The 240D was a 4 speed and the wagon is an automatic.

the axles will fit, they are both w123 chassis. the transmission has
nothing to do with the axles.
