Regardless of which way you go, when you wax your car, wax the film on the headlights too. It makes the bugs slide off more easily when you clean the headlights.

Mike, how thick is this free stuff from the tint shop? Xpel is about 1/32 inch thick. IMHO, the thickness helps it absorb rock strikes without being damaged. I would be concerned that the window tint stuff would be too thin to do any good (altho you can't beat "free" for the price).

My cars have had Xpel on them for two years now and, as I live on a gravel road, they got lots of use. Whatever stuff you decide to use, it's definitely worth it.

About one-quarter the thickness of Xpel (1/32 inch = 31 mils vs. 8 mils for the 3M stuff). It might be OK, why don't you try some and let us know in a couple of years. Gotta be better than nothing, anyway. While you're at it, get a Toyota (they're so much cheaper!!!).

Awesome dude. I put a set of used Bosch euros on the 420sel and man what a difference. I put those silverstar ultras in there and you can light up a stadium with those things!

I installed Euros on my 116 but the park lights have never worked? Does anyone know what I did wrong. By the way the lights look great. I disagree about the Toyotas though. They are dang good cars as well.

Are you talking about the city light bulbs, if so they are the empty prong out of the five, splice them into your parking light wire.

Enjoy.

Toyota

Geez, I was just being sarcastic.

Actros, let us know if your stacking technique works. BTW, the eBay stuff is only 6 inches wide, that's not wide enough for W124 Euro headlights, you would end up with a joint that would be hard to make invisible. Might be OK on your 300SD, I looked at the picture on your profile, are the rectangular headlights about 6 inches high?

By city lights do you mean the side markers/turn signal. The signals work but the park light is not on. I thought they just did not work for some odd reason. I have seen many pics of them that did not work so I thought mine did'nt either. I was just stating an opinion about the toyota. I love them for the simple fact the AC usually works even with super high miles which is a must in the south in summer. Of course that is a trade off for the feel of a Mercedes and nothing beats that.

Me too

in order to get the city light to work you need to do some wiring in the plug, since the entire head light unit is GROUNDED, all you need is to find a power source, example your headlight switch open it out, get a wire and find the appropriate setting for your day time running light (trial and error). I ll see if i could figure one out...
