European Delivery Club?
Anyone else with an Euro Delivered W123? What limited information I have found about my car was it was delivered in Stuttgard Germany in October 1982 and shipped from Berlin back to the US. The car lived in Fresno, CA for 24 years then sold to the second owner in SoCal who I bought the car from in January and bought it back to Fresno... when cleaning the car out I found an old letter addressed to the original owner, who lived less than a mile from me... drove over to the their house but found out the original owner had died a year ago... car didn't come with any other service history, might try the dealership as the independents here are worst than the dealership!
Did all the Euro delivered car have the triangle and first aide kits as my car has, or was that a stand alone option even for Euro delivered cars? Anybody have a guess of how many 1983's were Euro delivered? or for that matter for all W123's? Probably not a whole lot, but it would be nice to know. The Euro Delivery badge was looking pretty bad for the 26 years of bugs, dust and sand pitting, so I cleaned it up and repainted it... not to bad. |

I don't have the cool badge, but China was a Euro delivery car. Came across on the Toyota Maru to the Houston ship channel where she was picked up and driven to San Antonio for 20+ years. I have all the paperwork....
Would love a badge..... Had triangle, med kit and radio antenna on front right quarter panel. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=1317

Of the 5 cars I have (including a parts car), 3 of them were Euro deliveries. I guess it was the thing to do when the dollar was king.

Mine was delivered in Europe. Had it's first service there. Russian site says dealer is 401 NATO member sales.

Mine was European Delivery Program and has the heated seats to prove it. Badge was long gone by the time I got the car, and no sign of a trunk triangle. Guy I knew told me he had a Mercedes that his grandfather bought in Germany and brought over, then was his father's, then his. About a year later he told me he was trying to sell it, and I thought it would make a nice addition to my fleet. As anyone can see from my posts, the car is not in the best condition, but it seems to me at 364,000 miles that somebody really loved it at some point. He was asking way too much for it (not a Mercedes guy, no clue how little the car was worth), but it didn't really matter to me, he probably needed the money more than I did. But, I ended up with what I think is a pretty cool car with a story that is different than most 123s ... bought in Germany, brought over and stayed in the same family for 30 years. Fallen from grace and now I'm giving it a new chance.

The Russian site shows my car as Dealer United States - tourists*(707) on the option list. I have requested a copy of the factory window sticker from MBCA, so it will interesting what is shows. I agree when the dollar was worth more than the Mark in the early '80's it was cheaper to take delivery in Germany and have a vacation at the same time then to buy it State side. I might contact either MBCA or MBUSA to see if they have any numbers as to Euro Deliveries.

My VIN decoading says my 240D was a euro delivery car. I don't have any history on it though.

What year is your 190D? The Russian VIN site does not work on '82 (I think) and earlier cars.
