I dunno how well it would pull an F150. Probably be severely undergeared, unless you swap axles. Most guys going that route do a Fummins swap instead.....Cummins into a Ford.

But a Ranger....now that might work.

OH, I'll throw this out, Don. I found some Cummins engines in case you need a bigger diesel engine.

I have got myself into a project with my nephew installing the engine and trans out of a 87 300sdl into his 67 f100. The truck has 3.23 in the rear end so it should run out very well.

Do a quick search on "trap oxydizer" and get rid of that head-killer.

if it was me I would get a W123 280CE with blown motor and swap in the diesel with a 5spd

Put it in a 380SL with a dead engine.
