'97 E 300D (W210) ignition tumbler R & R
After reading the horror stories of worn ignition switches having to be drilled out, when mine started to get hard to turn on from time to time, i ordered a new one from the dealer. I was familiar with the tumbler used on the previous W 124 and W 126 (the kind that use the "U" shaped wire to unlock the tumbler) but this new one is different!
I've searched the threads but no mention of the tumbler on a W 210. HELP! Is there a special tool ? What's the secret?

W210 tumbler
'Best I can do is the RU site's Pictogram:
(It doesn't make sense to me though...'shows the #23 [Transponder] and #20 [tumbler cover] as being outboard of the key?)

Thanks for the drawing. I don't think that my car has the transponder because I don't think that the key has a "chip" (i may be wrong). If I can get the tumbler out, we'llall know
