Power steering pump adjustment
I changed all the belts on my car over the weekend and when it came to adjusting the tension of the power steering pump belt the adjusting bolt just kept turning and I need to know if that is threaded into a nut or is there a part of the pump that is threaded. If the pump is threaded then can I drill it out and rethread to a larger size or did I just unscrew it too far and need to restart the bolt.

I think on my car right now there is a nut to thread into, but I cant check that now as my car is in the shop.

Thats what I am hoping because then I probably just unscrewed it to far.

On my 240's the adjuster bolt threads into a plastic unit that is accessible if you remove the PS pump. That piece was broken on my car and I had to get a replacement.
If you are lucky it just unthreaded

That bolt fits into a threaded slider thing that fits into the bracket. Loosen it up, that will drop the slider to give you room to replace the belt.

The thing is I already replaced the belt but when I went to tighten it the adjusting bolt in your picture just keeps turning.

^^The thing on the other end may have fallen off the bolt, (did on me!) to check you're going to have to get in there and see. Shouldn't be a big deal. I was able to finagle it back on, all's well.
