Alda???
Hi, i have a couple questions.. i like this post and a lot of people here are very knowledgable so i hope u can help me.. i finially got my car to shut-off as i read through the post's now i heard about this alda switch.. i know a lot of people ask about it already, but i am very dumb about my 300sd engine. (79).. now i am doing 0-60 in about 16 sec and i do feel the boost at 2000rpm so i guess it is fine. but i want more power.. now the q's
where is it located? (assume i am dumb and know nothing about engines) pictures would help a lot!!!! how much is the factory set at? and how much do people usually crannk it up to? also what nut to turned it up? (where) do i need to upgrade other components for the new boost setting? should it effect the reliability of the engine? 400k and running smooth... love these cars. but i can use a little more speed. if u can help me i would appreciate it a lot. thxs |

I did a simple search under ALDA and had tons of practical help. One post had a picture and described how to remove the tamper-proof plastic cover, etc. There was a simple lock nut to loosen and a set screw to adjust out (counter-clockwise) in 1/4 increments. Test drive every minor adjustment and enjoy the difference (if that is part of the "slow" problem)

I have a few pictures about this. Check out http://www.geocities.com/wyldrozes/learn.html and you'll see a picture of the ALDA.

that really helps a lot, although i still can't find a step by step picture on how to do this/ tried many seaches came up with nothing. but i got some ideas now.. so is it possible to just adjust the alda with out messing with anyother stuff? i mean just and and turn it up (of course carefully turn it up) should be okay right?

I found a 5 cyl. turbo at the junkyard and would like to know how to take out the ALDA part. Can someone help with steps on taking off the ALDA device. Thanks in advance.

There is a large nut under the Alda turn it clockwise. A medium size adjustable will usually do it. Disconnect the boost line and you have. I always gab them at the u-pull it when I see them, That and tach amps .
