kingdoc1-the car is white , what is soft scrub? Where do you get it ?[/QUOTE]

SoftScrub is a houshold cleaning product, you can get it at Walmart or pretty much anywhere. There is also a variety of it that contains bleach, might even work better on your car. It is very slightly abrasive and will also remove oxidation.

Wet the car first. I use a sponge, apply the SoftScrub to the wet sponge and scrub the area in a circular motion. Don't be afraid to use a liberal amount. Make sure the car is in the shade and be sure to rinse well. I have had good success with removing mildue stains and such from many vehicles this way.

You might try a dilute solution of citric acid on that stain, if it is calcium. Sounds like your tranny may have only needed a B2 piston?

And , what's wrong with the "tropical smell"? Better than than northern tinworm, isn't it?

Putting a car under a tarp in Florida is akin to a death sentence. Kind of like baking a wrapped potato in a microwave.

Tyl604 - What is the Becker website you are mentioning? I wouldn't mind getting an original Becker for my 93 300D. Thanks!

Thanks

Thanks for all the suggestions on getting rid of the hard water stains on my "$100" Mercedes. I now have some options to try.

Unfortuneatly work just called and I am on an airplane to a job site for a week.

This making a living stuff is really getting in the way of my hobby. I wish the damn lottery people would quit picking the incorrect numbers. For the past two decades I buy a lottery ticket and every week those fools selecting the numbers all choose the ping pong balls with the wrong numbers.

Have you replaced the rubber brake lines? My Chevy truck sat for about 10 years while I was fixing it up and the lines swelled shut, effectively locking the brakes because they wouldn't allow any fluid to pass. $65 later, with 3 new hoses, It's good to go.

WHo needs brakes

Kartek-thanks for the reminder. Brake & brake lines are on the long replacement list. I am thinking of steel braided as an option.

I had the same yellow crap problem on Nora when i picked her up. The guy had it under a car cover that leaked in water. So, leaves fell on top of the car, then leaked brown/yellow crap all over the car.

I tried different things and found the best results with a heavy rubbing compound that I applied by hand with a wax pad. It came right off. I then applied a basic wax to get the shine back. The car still had some staining here and there, but it cleared up slowly as it got rained on over the months.

$100 (NOT!) Mercedes Update

Been about a month and a half.

Seats pulled and "restuffed", Interior steam cleaned, roof/trunk/engine drains cleaned out, Filter bracket replaced,waxed/buffed, Engine bay cleaned.

I was to replace the tires last week(dry rot) but in removing the windshield wiper arms I stupidly placed my elbow on the windshield to get some leverage and "CRACK" -spiderbroke the windshield all the way to the edges (#%&%$@!!!). ?The windshield has been replaced -so tires will be next months budget.
